Lazaro Appears in Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll

Lazaro men's jewelry is featured in the new FX series starring Denis Leary titled "Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll". Denis Leary plays an aging rock star who keeps missing in the series that is set to premiere July 16th. He has a swagger he brings to everything he does that fits his character as Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll Johnny Rock. The chemistry between band mate John Corbett and him is punctuated by Lazaro's jewelry that Johnny Rock is wearing. The silver jewelry like the  rings and men's necklaces by Lazaro SoHo are the kind of rock and roll jewelry that ties Lazaro to the history of rock. It's great to see Denis Leary wearing our men's jewelry as part of the presence he builds into this character drawn from rock music. His daughter who threatens to eclipse him is played by Elizabeth Gillies, a talented actress who is also well known as a singer and song writer. In these new promotional videos Johnny Rock describes his influences as the Clash, the Kinks, the Ramones, and the Del Fuegos as John Corbett's character Flash counters with a list including bourbon, speed, and cocaine. The new show is a humorous look at a struggling rock musician who washed up just as he was rising. Yet In many ways the interest Denis Leary has taken in this project is just as much a shout out to all of those who made rock what is today but were never given the credit. Denis Leary said that he was "much more interested in the guys who should have been famous." The ones that "blamed the world and not themselves for failing."

Before Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll, Denis Leary brought an impressive array of talents to weave together the personae behind Johnny Rock. It's a role that gives him an opportunity to bring out his best as a comedian. It even gave him an opportunity to write the music. Early on in Denis Leary's career as a comedian he famously sang about a average jerk who deliberately pisses off other people. It's easy to forget that he used to connect comedy and music so often. His career as an actor has exploded with big roles in shows like "Rescue me", where he played a character who was close to home. His cousin who was a fire fighter passed away in a fire, and you wonder if some of the depth he brought to his character Tommy Gavin carries something personal in it. The portrayal he gave of a divorced fire fighter who has to come face to face with his own fears catapulted Denis Leary on to everyone's television. His show Sirens was a huge hit and we look forward to seeing him play Johnny Rock in Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll this July.
